“I love the way the texture, shape & colour of glass manipulates light, and how light itself brings glass to life.”
This is me,
Penelope (Penny) Elliott.
I‘ve been an artist for most of my life, across both commercial and recreational endeavours.
In 2008 I became thoroughly enchanted— and only slightly addicted— to working with glass as a medium for art.
As soon as I started working with glass , I felt a drive to learn and do more with it. Now, working from our home-built studio, I employ a mixture of stained glass techniques, including both traditional leadlight & the Tiffany foiling methods… as well as a few of my own tricks.
I love experimenting with the colours and textures of glass— both antique or modern, to create deep, detailed & often very complex bespoke pieces.
The scale & scope of the work produced from my studio ranges from designing bespoke commissions alongside clients, to experimenting with & developing new— small-to-large scale concepts, to creating one-off pieces for sale at a multitude of local artisan markets across Perth, and hopefully soon to be, ‘Online’.
…I also love to teach this time-honoured skill to anyone willing through my monthly Possums Run Studio Workshops!
So reach out! Send an email, or give me a call, or just pop by for a visit… Best give to me a shout that you’re coming though, so I can put the kettle on!
